Born and raised in Nash County, Shelby has always been heavily involved in the community, especially in youth sports. This involvement developed into a passion for supporting and advocating for families and children.
Shelby attended North Carolina Wesleyan College, where she graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. During her time at Wesleyan, she was a 4-year member of the softball team, where she was a pitcher. After college, Shelby attended Campbell Law in Raleigh, North Carolina. Shelby dedicated her time to Restorative Justice, where she wanted to be a voice for those in need. Shelby was also the Project Manager for the Social Justice Pro Bono Project at Campbell.
In her free time, Shelby enjoys spending time with her husband, Noah, golfing, and any other outdoor activities. Shelby has three fur babies, one dog named River and two cats named Butter and Darby. She is also a diehard Duke Blue Devil fan.
Shelby is an associate attorney and will practice out of the Tarboro, N.C., location of Lusby Law P.A. in Edgecombe County.
